Hyper Rare Seaham Opalite Sea Glass Earring In Sterling Silver

Regular price £68.00

These beautiful moonstone-esque sea glass pieces originate from Seaham and date between 1850's - 1920's. Their soft, milky iridescent tones shift in the sunlight and are utterly beautiful, like some kind of rare moth skittering in the sunlight.

Opalite sea glass was made at the world famous Londonderry Bottleworks factory on the coast of Seaham by melting silica, quartz and dolomite at extreme temperatures exceeding 1700 celsius and then adding fluorine to the melted glass. The result was this light scattering effect much treasured.

Like precious gemstones, these earrings are all one of a kind.

These earrings measure 1.8cm in height.

Each order (over £60) comes with two free sentimental gifts.
