Frequently Asked Questions
Can I wear my new sea glass jewellery while bathing/ showering?
Yes! There is no special need to remove your beautiful new jewellery while bathing or showering. We would highly recommend however, removing your new treasures while swimming as chlorine and especially sea water can cause rapid tarnishing. Your jewellery will come with a complimentary silver polishing cloth as standard.
How do I top up the nice shine on my sea glass?
Just a little dab of baby oil will do it. We never use coconut oil or any other oil on our sea glass in respect of those with nut allergies.
Can I send you my sea glass to make into jewellery?
We would love to receive your sea glass! Please contact Laura via email at laura@intheheather.com to arrange. Please note. we only work with high quality sea glass and won't work with thin/ shard like pieces. Pebbly and thicker pieces are always best. This ensures that your new jewellery looks good and will be our usual high quality.
Can I wear my new jewellery everyday?
Absolutely! We only use hard solder so you can continue your daily activities with your new jewellery on. For heavy duty activities such as gardening, diy, working out, housework etc, we would recommend removing your new jewellery though. Sweat can cause tarnishing and while we rigorously test and know our jewellery is extra strong, nothing is indestructible.
Are all elements of your jewellery sterling silver? / Can you work with gold instead?
We work with a combination of fine (99.9%) silver and sterling (92.5%) silver in every piece so your piece is worth more. Typically we personally prefer to work with only pure silver, but any pure silver pieces will be labelled as such. We can work in gold, our prices start at £800, which reflects the high cost of gold today.
