Create an everlasting memory with our beautiful gemstone jewellery making class held on Mother's Day at our cosy Glasgow shop. This class is designed for complete beginners to silversmithing, even those that have never made jewellery before. Laura, the tutor will assist you in all aspects.

The class will begin with a taster of luxury cakes and macarons, truffles and other nibbles. From there you will design your gemstone jewellery under the guidance of Laura the tutor, choose your gemstone, set it and begin creating your one of a kind jewellery.

Together you will learn how to use a jewellers torch and solder your pieces together before dropping them together in the pickle. Once the soldering work is done, you will be offered a high quality, chilled champagne (or beverage of your choosing, email laura@intheheather to arrange).

Your every taste will be catered to and your class magical. You will leave with your new beautiful jewellery and a fantastic memory made between the two of you.

Good to know:

  1. As there will be butane torches in use, we don’t allow animals or anyone else in the room with you while the course is commencing (unless you are under 18).

  2. If you worry that you have never made jewellery before, please don’t be concerned! Laura, the tutor for the evening will assist you in all aspects of the course which is friendly and informal. This course is for complete beginners who have never made jewellery before.

  3. If you have long hair, please have your hair tied back and wear short sleeves if possible. The shop will be cosy and warm on arrival.

  4. If possible, please keep your nails as short as possible for dexterity and safety when using some of the tools. If you have acrylic nail extensions you will be taught how to use certain tools in a different way to prioritise safety. No high heels, flat footwear that is completely enclosed must be worn.

  5. The course will take place at our Glasgow shop.

  6. There is no parking on site, but lots of parking available locally on Argyle street.

  7. Once paid, the course is non refundable although if needed, you may change the date.

  8. Due to using butane torches, there is to be no consumption whatsoever of alcohol before attending the class and it will only be offered once your jewellery is in the pickle and all tool and torch work has ceased. This is for your safety.
