Choose Your Pendant - Scottish Alien Grey Sea Glass Small Tiny Pendants In Sterling Silver (With 18 Inch Wave Chain In Sterling Silver)

Grey Sea Glass has a special place in my heart, as the sea glass that sparked my interest in collecting and beach combing in general, it lead me to deep dive the creation process and I fell in love with the history behind the greys. Lead was used, predominately in the Victorian era, for plate wear and decorative artefacts such as paperweights and ornaments. It was a display of wealth for Victorians and they loved coloured glass, very much playing into the Gothic appeal of the period and their thrill in hosting dinner parties. It is unlikely that leaden plates would ever have been thrown for ships etc when broken, more likely wealthy Victorians discarding broken pieces of their own accord by lobbing them into the sea. 

Another possibility for origin, in terms of pale grey sea glass, is that is came from 1960's cathode television screens which very likely would have been viewed, through its thick glass, the 1969 moon landing. Thus connecting the heavens and Earth... and very possibly, our extra terrestrial cousins, the grey aliens.
