"Ardrossan" | Scottish Grey Sea Glass Necklace In Sterling Silver

This stunning medium sea glass piece comes from Ardrossan, the location in which it was found.
This sea glass was made with lead during the glass manufacturing process circa 1880 - 1905 (don't worry, it is 100% safe to wear, lead is not released from the glass, even in water), it is a feminine nod to a history of beauty - from the Georgian's "ceruse" make up powder to Victorian lead glassware to today, as sea glass jewellery. In reality, lead has been loved and prized for centuries.
From the thickness and tone of grey in this necklace, it was almost definitely from an old 1960"s cathode television screen that may, possibly, have viewed the 1969 moon landing - intimately linking space and Earth together through the very necklace you see here.
This one of a kind pendant comes presented on our Scottish sea glass information card, detailing where on a map of Scotland it was found, the history of Scottish sea glass, a colour rarity guide and a complimentary silver polishing cloth.
