Beach Comber Award Necklace #3 | Scottish Grey Sea Glass Necklace In Sterling Silver Inscribed With "Beachcomber"

Regular price £78.00

This little necklace was created as an award for you to treasure, a memory of all the miles covered on foot beach combing this year, all the finds, all the archeological treasure you discovered (as that is what sea glass is!) and a reminder of what you are and should be very proud of- a beach comber.

After all "when you find a piece of sea glass, you find something that no one else has seen in at least 100 years".

Made with lead during the glass manufacturing process (don't worry, it is 100% safe to wear, lead is not released from the glass, even in water), it is a feminine nod to a history of beauty - from the Georgian's "ceruse" make up powder to Victorian lead glassware to today, as sea glass jewellery. In reality, lead has been loved and prized for centuries.

From the thickness and tone of grey in this necklace, it was almost definitely an old 1960"s cathode television screen that may, possibly, have viewed the 1969 moon landing - intimately linking space and Earth together through the very necklace you see here.

This beautiful small sized pendant comes on our signature 18 inch wave chain and comes presented on our sea glass presentation cards detailing the location it was found on a map, the history of Scottish sea glass and a colour rarity guide as well as a silver polishing cloth.
