Truly one of the finest collections of sea glass necklaces we have ever made. These pools of light resemble long forgotten Victorian ponds, teaming with life in some moss covered forest, undisturbed by humans, containing amphibians and fish yet unknown to science.

These marbles, naturally halved overtime by the moods of the sea, would once have been codd marbles, used in the necks of glass bottles as an air tight stopper for carbonated drinks. These were invented and patented by Hiram Codd in 1872. These marbles were a cheaper option to expensive cork and to open the bottle, a finger was used to decompress the marble in the neck of the bottle until it fell into a pre designed hollow in the neck of the bottle where it then rested.

These specific codd marbles are all large and would have been inside big jumbo bottles of carbonated drink, perhaps lemonades or ginger beer, more specifically designed for used in sales at a public bar etc.

The largest of these pendants measures 3.1cm in height and lay beautifully flat on the chest, making an alluring and historical necklace.

The chain length is 18 inches and is on our new beautiful thick wave chains that are silky on the skin.

Each order (over £60) comes with two free sentimental gifts.
