Tiny rare lavender manganese Scottish sea glass hammered ring in sterling silver - Size O (UK), Size 7 (US)

Regular price £55.00

It is exceptionally rare to find lavender coloured sea glass here in Scotland this tiny pebble is a precious reminder of Scottish history.

This little pebble, reminiscent of the joy of Spring (God knows us Scots are looking forward to our yearly dose of vitamin D!) sits merrily on a hammered band.

This little piece, believe it or not, would have started its life as a white chunk drifting at the bottom of the sea. The date of this piece is approximated to 1875 - 1930 where manganese was added to de-colourise the natural murky aqua colour of glass. Through long time exposure to UV rays, this white piece turned a deep lilac colour. Over time, your piece will become even more deeply purple/ lavender, although this can take decades.

Each ring comes on its own information card detailing the history of Scottish sea glass, the location and date it was found on a map of Scotland, colour rarity guide and how your sea glass would have started life, including an approximate age. Inside your sea glass pack comes a complimentary silver polishing cloth to keep your new ringlooking amazing.
